When we started Learning & Sharing Child Development Center more than 25 years ago, we set out to be different. Because we had seen, both in everyday experiences and in countless research studies, that how children learn when they are young deeply affects how they learn as adults, we knew that we had to be so much more than a day care in New Cumberland. With this in mind, we developed our programs to be fun, engaging and full of positive learning experiences tailored to the natural development of each child.

Our Philosophy
We know that so many day care programs in New Cumberland focus on making sure that the children have fun, but we take our philosophy one step further. We believe that the most important stages of learning happen from birth to age 5 or 6, and we make it our business to provide every child in our care with the kind of education that enables them to grow into strong, independent, creative and caring adults who genuinely value learning.
We also believe that the parents should play an active role in their child’s life. For this reason, we always hold an open door policy for our parents, so feel free to stop by and check in on your child at any time.
Our Facility
Established in 1988, we chose a facility in a quiet corner of New Cumberland and have been there ever since. We set up our child development center in order to provide maximum security without limiting a creative, fun-filled environment, so that every child feels safe and every parent feels confident.
Each section of our facility is specifically designed for the age group that it houses. This way we are able to promote the safety of our infants just as much as our kindergarteners. In addition, our playgrounds all uphold and exceed the state’s standards for safety so that your child is as safe as possible, even at play.
Our Programs
We are one of the few day cares in New Cumberland that separates toddlers into two groups. We do this because every single year in a child’s life brings new challenges, new developments, new stages of independence and new demands, and we don’t believe that a single toddler program for ages one to two can adequately address the needs of every child.
For the same reasons, we also separate our preschool program from our pre-K program, giving three to four year olds a more social approach to learning while our 4 to 5 year olds are gently eased into kindergarten with an exciting, fun and educational approach.

Our Qualifications
